iPad IPad Air has become a magnet

Just recently I have been noticing metallic objects sticking to my naked iPad Air. It is typically in a case so maybe that is why I am just noticing this now. It happens all the way around the ipad. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this normal?

There are magnets on the side for the smart cover.

Yes, but would this make the entire bottom magnetic?

Do you notice a decrease in connectivity? I think magnets can disrupt the radio waves, not sure exactly.. and too lazy to look it up.
