I am looking for a case for my IPad Air M4 13 inch. I originally bought Apple’s case The Smart Folio which was crap. My IPad was two weeks old and laying on the bed, when husband got into bed and it fell on the floor. The case fell completely off and screen cracked and IPad was dented in on the bottom. I had Apple Care and got a new one for $99. I need a case that won’t come off and is durable. I like the otter box but they only have one for IPad Air Pro M4 13 Inch. My question is does anyone know if I can use the same case as those for the IPad Air M2 13 inch? You would think they should be the same size.
Thank you!

The Otterbox case made for the M4 iPad Pro 13 inch will not fit the iPad Air. Different thickness is the reason. Still, I’m sure that there’s a better solution to fit your needs.

First, can you clarify what iPad you actually have, as this will differ for what suggestions are offered. Your post says "iPad air M4 13 Inch" which is a product that doesn't exist. You further confuse things by saying "iPad Air Pro M4 13 Inch." Do you have the M4 iPad Pro (13"), or do you have the M3 iPad Air 13"? These are two different tablets with different accessories. There is not an iPad Air variant with an M4 chip...just M2 and M3 (the most recent released this week).

As to cases: for my M3 iPad Air 13", I tried a couple cheaper third party folio cases and ended up not really liking them, so I got the Apple Smart Folio for daily carry and I really, really like it. Perfect fit and finish, very slim, no stupid locking flap, etc..however I like a very thin case, and it seems you want more protection. I also got the last gen iPad Magic Keyboard for the times I want to use it like a laptop, since I was able to get a like-new open box one for dirt cheap ($82).

If your tablet is the M3 iPad air - then yes, all cases (and all accessories) made for the M2 iPad Air will fit the M3 iPad Air. If your tablet is the M4 iPad Pro, they will not fit.
