Agree. This seems very high. I used an Invellop case with my mini that fit excellent and was less than $15...

I think it was a smart move. I have a polyurethane smart case and it's all kinds of dirty. The leather is going to hold up much better.
Have you seen the iPhone 5/5S leather cases?
These things will see much more wear from table tossing, and greasy hands.
They'll look like crap in no time.

When ppl say "Apple fanboy" they mean you. Apple can do no wrong to some people. $80 for a case is a slap in the face. Omg those profit margins tho!
I thought 40 for the iPhone case was pretty high but 80 for the iPad case is crazy. If they get dirty as quick as the iPhone cases you will see a lot of returns.
Considering I've never owned a PC and a mac user since 1988 I'll take that as a compliment.
The leather they're using isn't holding up well. I'm assuming that it's going to be the same as it was on the iPhone cases. I would have preferred a RED polyurethane iPad mini cover.
It's not a big deal on my opinion. No one is forcing anyone to buy an official case or cover. There will be many third party quality options pretty soon.
The case is exactly what I want, but for $80, I'm going to have to pass. I'm looking forward to what Spigen is going to release.
I agree. I'm thinking about getting the Smart Cover. Just worried if its dumb to have the back exposed.
On my iPad 3 currently I have a clear TPU cover on the back and the the Apple Smart Cover on the front. I'll be looking at the same for my iPad Air. I had a look on the Internet earlier but I couldn't find any iPad Air specific TPU covers but I think its only a matter of time before they are available.
I would definitely not expose the back. In my opinion, having the cover on just the screen looks odd.
Yes I use a snap on clear back case and it looks and works just fine with my Smart Cover. I wanted a clear back case that's why I am reluctant to get the all in one back case and Smart Cover options.
