iPad iPad air - very slow video streaming

The streaming experience on the Netflix app with my brand new iPad air is much worse than on my Macbook Air (freezing, constant buffering, etc.) over the same network. Any idea why this is the case and whether something can be done about it?

Nothing from iPad. Check your router etc

I've had slow steaming with previous iPads but I wrote that off to some issue with TW Wideband. I've found that streaming on the Air to be flawless though.
