Anyone have an elegent solution for access to local external data while on the go? Like a wireless HDD adhoc network or the like? Does iPad Air support USB OTG?

Plenty of options such as the Kingston Wi-Drive, Seagate GoFlex Satellite, Corsair Voyager Air, Patriot Gauntlet Node, etc. They work well enough for music, videos and photos, but it's not going to help with app storage, etc.

Are the appropriate apps able to open/view files located on the external storage? Mostly concerned about video but documents would be nice too.
