I'm looking to buy an iPad Air 32Gb with cellular in the near future.

I'd prefer to wait until October for the new model, but I'll need it before then for travel. Oh well.

The problem I'm encountering is that the less popular models with cellular and/or more storage aren't discounted nearly a frequently as the 16GB wi-fi models. They aren't stocked in as many outlets either, so there are fewer choices to make a purchase.

The best deal I can work out right now is the Best Buy $50 college coupon, combined with a USPS coupon. Apparently, they'll still stack. (I'm not going to sign up for a contract for an unlocked device, so the pricing will start at full MSRP, without the $100 activation discount.)

Next best is the Target $100 gift card, but I dislike gift cards just on principle. They're more reliable than the rebates that used to be so popular, but they still benefit the store more than the consumer.

I've considered an Apple refurb, but sales tax eats most of the savings, and is a big chunk just in general.

Costco has started selling iPads, but the discount is meager, and again with the gift card I'd rather not have to deal with.

The last option is ordering online from an Apple reseller; no tax, but full MSRP. I think some may throw in a free case, but I only consider that a minor bonus. Sams Club, with tax, is roughly equivalent; the MSRP amount.

Am I missing anything? I think I've explored it all.
