What's the story with the fingerprint sensor on the ipad air? I bought an ipad air 6 months ago that the home button was the same style as the fingerprint sensor home button (I never actually used it to see if it worked) but the white envelope sheet on the inside of the box labeled it as a touch sensor. And then I bought another ipad air a few weeks ago, and this one had newer IOS 9.1 but had the old non sensor home button, and the same white envelope sheet on the inside of the box labeled it as just a regular home button, no touch sensor.

Anybody know the scoop? Do I have a really rare ipad air with a fingerprint sensor that I should be ebaying for thousands of dollars! :) :)

There have been two iPad Airs to date, the first iPad Air does not have TouchID, while the iPad Air 2 does. You don't have a rare iPad, you have an old one and a new one.
