Basically, I have a 3GS iPhone, so if I bought an iPad could I tether it for internet whilst away from home, and therefore buy the cheaper wi-fi only model? It would save money that way!

Yeah I did it today, one thing you will notice though is that your battery on your iPhone won't last long so I hope you have it plugged into a charger. :)

I was going to use my MiFi Sprint card (have it for laptop and remote work, not purchased for the iPad) on my 64GB iPad, however after seeing how much of a hassle it is to keep both charged and everything I'm just going to purchase another 64GB Wifi + 3G and either sell my current iPad or keep it for around the house/give to my girlfriend.
