So now that I have an iPad (64/3G), and travel a lot... I have a question:

I want to go on the road armed only with said iPad sans macbook. If I'm at a hotel with only an ethernet cable, and don't want to use my 3G (as in international), can I just bring an AirPort Express and hook it to the cable to create a wifi network?

Never used the AirPort Express, so...

Thanks for any thoughts!

You'll want to set it up at home first with a WPA password using the Airport Utility Software, but after that it is as easy as you say.

This is how I've been using my iPad with Airport Express. Works great. Not every hotel has WiFi and definitely bring your own ethernet cable.

Granted I don't do this at a hotel, but i use the exact same setup at the school i teach at. Has worked flawlessly for me so far!

I too use the Airport Express with my iPad. Like other said, you will need to set it up with provided software using computer first. It's flawless after that.
