Quick question I am doing for research purposes. Will disabling or removing a SIM card from a 3G/4G iPad disable the location services and not allow me to track the device with Find My iPad. I know this was true in the past for the iPhone, but is this still true with the current line of iOS devices?

How else would the iPad be able to report back its location?

Would it not be able to track its location through Wifi only? That is my question. If 3G/4G has been disabled or canceled by the user, would it revert to using the wifi (if connected)?

I only ask this because with my experience, if you were to call your cell provider and say you lost you iPhone. They would cancel the SIM card and it WOULD NOT revert to wifi for you to find the phone and cancel it.

Sorry if this does not make sense.
