Just wanted to know if any of you have pre-ordered with apple before...

Do they take the money at the pre-order stage or at the shipping stage?

i believe they take your money once it has actually shipped BUT you need to enter payment obviously while making your preorder.....i could be wrong

i think i will put a pre-order down as its becoming hard to gauge if these are going to sell like mad or not - i'd like to know im getting one in the near future but my bank balance says otherwise as my iphone 5 just shipped....

When you pre-order they will verify with your bank that you have the money in your account and during that process they will freeze your account for the total amount.

A few days later they will release the money back to your account, but as soon as it ships they will withdraw the money.
