The Mac App Coda 2 (see http://panic.com/coda/ ) can be configured with dedicated page preview running on the iPad. This is a very cool option for doing preview; this kind of multi-computer development is the shape of things to come.
Keith Blount has suggested that Scrivener will have a similar Mac-iPad integration when they release Scrivener for iOS:
The first time I read that, I thought about leaving my Mac at home and using the iPad to draft text or gathering research for a project. After some thought, I also realized that the iPad could be used as the primary input device and the Mac could be used for real-time preview of what was being input.
This architectural direction is an exciting development!
