I'm confident this has been posted before, but I'm wondering if anyone has found a lag-free solution for this? I'm guessing any kind of connector is out of the question (Apple!). I've seen the video for the ad-hoc connection, but that also looks laggy, no? And with this connection you can't use Wifi it seems. I'd love to use this as my mobile setup when necessary. Thanks for reading!

The only way is remote access solutions like Splashtop. They'll need to be on the same wifi network so you'd want to either have a router, or set up the Mini as your wifi host (which means, correct, you can't connect to any other wifi with the iPad). None of these solutions will be "lag free".

I don't know if this meets your needs but you can use the LogMeIn app and remotely log into your MM. I don't know what the need for this solution is but you should be able to fully control it. I use this to control my PC desktop.

No there is no lag free option. Since there is no "video in" on the iPad, the only option is to use an Adhoc wifi connection (or wifi in general) which will add a lag to everything you do and possibly reduce resolution/quality of the image. Even logmein as stated below will add lag to the overall process.

There's an app on the Android Market, iDisplay which can do this, I would be surprised if there isn't an iOS version.

It has an app on both sides, and is supposed to work with both Mac and PC. I haven't tried PC yet, but works well on Mac.

I too use the logmein app and it works great for the use I need it for:

-remote access within the house and on the road
-activation of MM as media server

As a sole display, not sure if that is what you are asking or not, it would "work" and you can still use the MM peripherals or the iPad screen for input...but it does have a slight delay.

I think that's going to be the best option.
