As a new iPad owner, to understand the ins & outs of backup & sync, I created a diagram, using a fixed-width font, with Textedit. It can't be posted here of course, it gets messed up without a fixed-width font. Hopefully I've attached a screen-capture png of most of it. I'd be very glad to hear of any errors & omissions! TIA.
