You can update your iOS no problem, you're stuck with that baseband whether you like it or not so if you update it's not going to go away. The bad point about it is you have removed some functionality of it, with the iPad baseband GPS does not work, so other apps with require your location also will not work and there's no way to fix this.

Incorrect. Never, EVER update if you rely on an unlock unless you are 100% certain the iOS and baseband your upgrading to is unlockable.

But can I upgrade to 5.1 which is realeased now? And an other question: Can i restore my iphone?

Thanks

Sam

Actully you can update but you need to do what we call cooking your firmware. Or preparing a special firmware update. Other wise iTunes will error out when it gets to the iPad baseband. You will also have to reinstall the baseband. Pwnagetools and sn0wbreeze allow this. Www.clarified has full tutorials. Also YouTube. Info is not hard to find.

And if you can stick with 5.0 since there will be a untethered jailbreak soon. Also lots of complaints about 5.0.1

IMO, he's not your friend for doing this, for all the reason mentioned in this thread. It creates a phone that's a pain to upgrade the iOS, it removes several features of the phone and is just a very bad idea.

With the ipad baseband installed you can never restore to stock firmare.
And 2nd 90% of iphones with the ipad bb lose GPS functionality. And those are the facts. Sounds like you need to learn a few things before you try to talk next time;)

iPad baseband destroys GPS. The only reason you are able to use location services is because the phone targeting your location using triangulation of cellphone towers.
