Hi,

I have looked everywhere, and I can't find an answer...

As my 1st gen iPad gets to be about a year old (and is still in the grace period before I buy the apple care warranty), I am wondering about how to measure battery depletion rate. You know, the one Apple says is covered if it reduces down below 50%. How do I know what my charge capacity is?

Is there an iOS app that can accurately measure (or measure at all) the current charge capacity of an iPad's battery? Something like Cocoabattery I use for my MBP?

I have downloaded a few so-called battery apps, but they are worthless (even though I paid for a couple), because if I charge to 100%, the app says I've got 10 hours of ebook reading or some such. And I know, after daily use of at least 3 or 4 hours a day since May 2010, that that battery ain't no stinkin' 100% charged. Or is it? Could it be that magical of a device? :)

Does anyone have any experience with this? I really use my iPad a lot, and I guess if the battery charge stays reasonable, I won't think about a new iPad until version 3 or so.

Thanks, Rich
