Cnn app + abc app + netflix streaming + filmontv subscription which is as cheap as netflix monthlsy = save tons on monthly tv charges. And the great part its mobile and anywhere as lomg ss there is wifi unlike a big tv to carry around.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

cool story bro!

What about hulu? Some of my friends have Netflix and hulu. They like having hulu for a lot of the current tv shows and Netflix for older ones.

Yeh but quality? The main thing I found about watching tv online is that s looks like crap!

but it's not live tv. you can't watch sporting events live and you have to wait for episodes to post

Directv has NFL Sunday Ticket, if you have a subscription you can watch any NFL game live on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch

We bought two Apple TV's last October and those helped us to "cut the cable", now my new ipad has only increased our options. We are saving about $60 a month.

We have an antenna on the roof (can be very small now with digital) for our live OTA content. Use Eye TV to turn our iMac into a DVR and use netflix for the rest.

Not a big sports family so that helps.

IMO streaming content is very limited here in Canada:
- Netflix has a very limited selection (mostly older films and Discovery TV shows)
- Hulu not available
- ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox video not available (neither Flash nor apps)
- DirectTV NFL app - not sure, but I'd bet Canadians can't get it
- I don't know about filmontv, is that a legit operation?

You can get TV/movie content if you pay for it on iTunes but I doubt that will lower your monthly bills!

This is not limited to the iPad, This is how i got rid of my Cable bill. save me about $100/Month. ($1200/year). I got a mac mini on HDMI to my TV and I got all those app installed. haven't missed the cable one minute.
