ipad...can you proxy safari?

Any time I'm on a network other than my own home I proxy all my web traffic through an ssh tunnel back to my home. Call me paranoid but I just don't trust public wifi. Is there any way to proxy my web traffic (safari at a minimum) when I'm using my iPad?

I think you can.

If you go to settings> wifi> then your wifi network

You will see the network settings and underneath there is an area of options for HTTP Proxy (off, manual or automatic).
