I've seen a charger from I *THINK* Belkin that says it's for the iPad AND iPod/phone.

Just wondered if anyone had used such a thing and whether it's okay both for the car and iPad. 10 watts seems a bit much to be pulling from a car, and I don't want to be stranded somewhere :D

I charge my iphone and ipad every day in my car on my commute, no issues ever.

Does anybody know if you use a regular iPhone car charger for the Ipad - that it can mess it up?

Is there specific iPad car chargers?

An iPod charger is 5W (5V @ 1A), but an iPad charger is 10W (5V @ 2A). You need a car charger rated for over 2A for iPad.

I've had the Belkin MicroCharge 2.1 Plus Charge Sync for going on six months and I am very happy with it. On long car trips it keeps my iPad fully changed even when it is being used continuously. The Belkin can also charge an iPod and cell phone (with the appropriate USB to micro-USB cable).
