Thanks for this thread, i was just doing a search looking for kid-friendly cases.

Anyway, I just picked up the i-Blason ArmorBox for the iPad Mini and want to see more options before I decide to keep it.

i-Blason ArmorBox $20 @ Amazon
612q0rCIoOL._SL1000_.jpg

+ Hard shell covered by soft layer makes it very durable and also soft
+ All ports are unobstructed
+ Solid kickstand (most are just a little flap that wont stay up
- Poor kickstand angle. Its not high enough IMO
- HEAVY! I think it doubled the weight which seems ridiculous
- Daughter drops it more due to weight
- Hard to get in and out
- I worry that the hard shell rubs against the black edge and will peel paint

I did have a problem with my ArmorBox above so I contacted i-Blason and they said to pick anything from their catalog and theyll give it to me. So I asked for their most expensive one which looks ridiculous. The pros and cons listed are based on assumption since i havent received it yet.

i-Blason Kido Series $29 @ Amazon
716PPENzA9L._SL1000_.jpg

+ Light since theres no hardshell.
+ So much padding it looks pretty indestructable
+ That handle/kickstand looks weird but is probably good for a kid
??? Probably too thick
??? Probably muffles audio
- Jony Ive would push over my kid if he saw him carrying an iPad with this

Okay, well does anyone else have recommendations? I doubt either of these will be the "perfect" kids case.

Is that case you bought working out for you?
I bought the cygnet workmate and it doesn't fit good all.

I was thinking of getting this one for my nephew. But I like the look of Speck's iGuy iPad Mini case:

My daughters (3 and 6) have had theirs in this case since last Christmas. Their cousins also have this case. I believe this to be the best case for kids. It does add a bit of weight, but not too much.

When we bought the pink one, it was $70. Now it is only $35!!
