So I'm going on a 10 hour road trip and would love to use my iPad mini (retina) as a turn by turn gps, anyone know what kind of data usage to expect?

I tried looking up the info but wasn't able to find anything..The only thing I gathered is that Apple maps uses much less data than Google Maps!

Thanks for your help!

I made a post in the App section last week about which Map app used less data. Good to know which one it is now.

I did a ~17 mile trip today using my rMini with Apple Maps on T-Mobile LTE. The turn by turn used 35mb.

For what its worth I changed route a few times and Maps had to recalculate it, not sure if that adds more data usage or not.

Hope this helps.
