Bought the new iPad 8th generation for virtual school. It comes with a 20w charger plug. I thought about getting an extra one and the accessories for the regular iPad shows a 30w charger. If a 30 w charger can be used and apple has it listed under iPad compatible accessories, how come the 30w is not in the box? Is there a max wattage that can be used?

My guess is charging something at a faster rate then what Apple intends (wattage of included charger) would degrade the battery life quicker over a long period of time then what's ideal. Plus higher wattage equals more electricity and that adds up with the trillions of devices sold each year.

For Apple - it's all about the $$$ and battery life second.
