Mirroring of the iPad display is only possible via VGA, HDMI or Apple TV (which outputs HDMI).

Video out is possible for composite though.

like the previous poster said, composite/component is not video mirroring supported. I know that there are some jailbroken apps that will do this but I did not have luck with them ,It does output video though

Are you wanting to actually mirror what is on the iPad screen exactly or just output video? The Apple A/V cable will output video from select apps, i.e. Videos app, netflix, etc. but will not do a full mirror like is possible with an iPad 2 or iPhone 4s and an Apple TV 2 or HDMI cable.

OP here:

I am interested in watching videos. How can I know in advance what apps will work? VLC? Stock videos? Safari? Videos from w/in Safari?
