The main reason I buy the iPad cover is NOT to cover the iPad! It is to make the iPad tilt upwards a bit on a flat surface (using the cover folded back on itself into a triangle). However, buying a cover just to tilt the iPad is kinda overly expensive when there are cheap alternatives.

Well, I used the leftover Sugru self-setting rubber (to fix the weak lightning cable) and made a tilted stand for my iPad Mini 2. Tell me what you think... it is quite stable and does the job just fine.

So if I'm understanding you, the iPad cover is too expensive but free market is giving what appears to be many alternative solutions!

Hooray for capitalism!

Thankfully if you got an iPad Cover and aren't satisfied there's the option to return it.

Every ipad I've bought was put into a $5 sleeve that I've had since ipad 1. Suits me just fine.

I bought mine from Apple on Black Friday for $ and It still looks new so that's money well spent.

The last I checked, you can find them really cheap now at Best Buy and Staples.

You did not buy them for 1 dollar.

I agree that the aple branded covers and cases are obscenely overpriced and not that great to boot. I love the Fintie brand cases which you can get through Amazon. They are low cost, they come in lots of flavors, and they hold up well too.

I got my plunger today and found that it works great. Mine was free as I found it in a filling station bathroom. One big plus is that you can use the plunger handle to stir your coffee! Thanks!
