Hi,

Im just trying to gather a general consensus of the best way to get data through an iPad. I have an iPhone with unlimited data and i was wondering would it be best to switch sims or just tether the iphone

pros/cons i figured so far are:

switching the sim would disable phone usage
while tethering would drain battery

So which method is most commonly used by you all ?

Tethering with MyWi 4.0 doesn't drain the battery that badly.
Its noticeable, but not prohibitive.

You realize, I hope, that to tether your iPhone you will have to jailbreak it.

I use the afore mentioned MyWi to tether my MacBook because I cannot get internet at home any other way, and it works like a charm.

MyWi 4.0 is a $19.99 one time charge

If your iDevice is running on the new iOS then a tethered JB is your only option. So consider that if/before you JB.

I have switched the sims out a couple of times and yes its nice, but its a PITA for sure. I'd tether. MyWi is a great app that's well worth the $.
