Wherever I am.
iPad 3 (new iPad).

I can't find any mentions of this anywhere on the web...but it used to be that whenever I will use the dictation on my new iPad, it made a little sound effect something to the effect of beep beep beep.

As of a couple of days ago it no longer makes this sound when I press the dictation button to start or end a dictation. The dictation still works fine, as a matter of fact, I'm using it to type this. I don't know if anything is wrong but I do miss the beeps.

Is anyone else experiencing this and do you have any suggestions on how I can fix it. I've already tried resetting the iPad but that did not help. Thanks in advance.

Actually took me a bit to figure it out.

1. Hit the dictation icon, but don't talk
2. Using volume up/down physical switch on the iPad/iPhone, raise the volume up.
3. Hit the dictation icon again.
4. Test if the beep is there.

On mine, I had the same problem. I somehow muted the beeping, and wondered how to get it back.
