iPad died randomly

Hey there,

I was putting tons and tons of contacts into my iPad address book when all of a sudden the screen went black and it died. Just for info, the battery still had about 60% left on it.

I turned on my iPad again and all the contacts I had entered were now gone.

Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any idea as to what could have caused this problem?

Do a reset and try it again. A reset usually will work out any bug.

A soft reset I presume? or do you mean a hard reset?

Oh, when I read "Died randomly" I thought you meant, you know, randomly. Like it exploded and started leaking flower petals or something.

Usual advice of try a reset and then restore if necessary?

Yes, perform a soft reset.

Do you have iCloud enabled on your device? If so, you can go to iCloud.com, sign in to your account and add contacts to your address book there. Once you've added the desired contacts, enable contact sync on your iPad and all of the contacts you entered on the website will be on your device. This may be easier than entering them on the device itself.
