Along with my new iPad I have an iPod touch. Is there anything special i need to do to sync email across devices?

I have a Hotmail account and a Outlook.com account.When I delete emails on my iPod touch they are also deleted in the main accounts also.

Will this be the case with the iPad? I want so that when I delete an email on one device its also deleted on the other.
