iPad Education promotion - do you also get a $50 discount on the iPad?

as i understand it, the education promotion apple is offering for students is 50 dollars apple store card for the app store, itunes etc.

When I placed the order for my ipad, i noticed on the invoice on apples order status page, that it shows 749 for the ipad (canadian). .70 cents recylcing fee.

then it shows 50 dollars promotion savings, saying 699 plus taxes, bring a total of 790.

anyone else got tis?

I bought mine at a local Apple store and didn't get a discount on the iPad, just the iTunes gift card.

i know hwat the promo is, but i just asking if anyone has recieved 50 bucks off the ipad too.

ah crap apple confused me giving me separate invoices.

apparently they charged me for the 50 card, and deducted it from the ipad price. which techincally saved a bit of taxes but i didnt get 50 off in actuality
