Ipad & external display without speakers?

I have been playing around with IpadOS 16 and using it with my ultrawide external monitor. Generally It all seems to work quite well and definitely makes the iPad feel a lot more useable. My only question is regarding using the iPad with an external monitor that doesn’t have speakers, It doesn’t seem possible to make sound playthrough the iPad - is this a bug or will it eventually be a feature?

It's possible.

You have to select the audio source from the iPad and switch it.

Does your ultra wide seem stretched?
Mine doesn't seem to output at native monitor Res or aspect ratio

When I connect to the external monitor it plays sound through the dock connector. No way to change that on my iPad. Luckily my monitor has speakers.
