iPad External Storage

I have an iPad 2 (2012) and would like to have external storage. I have an Airport Time Capsule with 2TB can I use that for storage of PDF's?

Thanks for the suggestion. As the Airport Time Capsule is a wireless device containing a 2TB drive and the iPad uses that for Internet connectivity you would think that storage would be available for iPad storage.
