It was a coincidence that my mother's HD crashed the same day I ordered my parents an iPad2 for Christmas. I figured this was a good time to ditch the pc altogether.

My father asked me this week how much it would cost to replace the HD in mother's computer. I explained it would be cheap but all the data was gone.

Turns out my mother used to spend hours at a time down in the computer room. Dad is complaining that now she carries the iPad all over the house and he can't get away from her.

I guess there needs to be a warning label for this possibility.

Very funny. You should ask your dad if he really thinks fixing her computer will entice her to go back to using it or if the barn door is now open and it's too late.

You should get your dad an iPad too. Then either she will see how difficult it is to get his attention away from it, or they can both be hopelessly obsessed together.
