So I have had an iPad for a number of years (a total of 3 iPads actually) but I have always noticed that iTunes thinks that there is more free space on my iPad then the iPad itself notes.

Right now iTunes says there is 5.6GB of free space on my iPad.
When I go to the "General --> About" in settings on the iPad it says that there is only 1.9GB of free space. I have noticed this difference with all 3 iPads that I have had over the years, although this has been the biggest discrepancy between the 2. The iPad seems to be the correct number because if I try to add an additional 2GB movie It tells me there is not enough free space on the iPad.

Anyone know why this is.
thanks
