iPad froze

My iPad Mini 4 froze in the IMDB app and wouldn't do anything. Is this normal to happen or did I get a bad one ?

I was outside at the time.

Were you able to recover or did you have to restart it? Freezing every once in a while is not unheard of, but if it's happening all the time then you may have an issue. If it's the latter, you may want to start by reloading your iPad as a new device and not restoring a backup to see if that helps.
