iPad Ipad gift card doubt

I want to buy an ipad air on the apple store in order to get the education promo. But I dont understand how it works.

I will get the ipad and use the gift card to buy the appple pencil, but how do I do that in order for it to ship together with the ipad? or do I have to make 2 orders and wait for 2 shipments.

I would appreciate advice of someone who has already done that, I always lurk on the forums but this is my first post .
