iPad "hands-free gateway" on Mac?

I paired my iPad with a Mac and under "Services" it says "Hands-free Gateway."

According to Wikipedia, that means that I can use my iPad with a hands-free car system.

But I'm wondering what a Mac user can do with this service. Since it's showing up on the Mac, it obviously can be used.
