Whilst I am in a higher-res iPad hopefuls group (for crisper text mainly), I do not see this happening due to the cost of display/ practicality(large app size, larger photo library size)/ technical(pixel defects, chip performance).
Yet it was discovered that there are new 2x graphic file included. Initially I thought it is a clear signal that 2x res iPad is coming but for reasons mentioned above I was not 100% convinced. Then it just occurred to me today that these graphics could be for when outputting iPad onto larger screen. It also goes along with the rumor there will be MDP on new iPad.
But still question remains as to why would Apple expect people to use iBook on external screen... well time will tell what all those 2x graphics were meant for...
