After inactivity from the tethered iPad... How long until the connection is terminated from the iPad acting as a hot spot?

Please help! Does anyone know? We are wondering if there is an issue with our iPad. I know mods... By bumping this post I will get a warning. (Due to a very ridiculous rule... That thank goodness does not exist on other forums where I participate).

If I remember right it is about 5 minutes. Your iPad is working correctly. It does so to save the battery life of the iPad.

That's what I figured. I never had an issue with it but I sold my original mini to my brother last night and he was concerned: I told him it is for battery life but he was bothered by it. I used it the night before as a hot spot with no issue and then just reset it and sold it... So I wanted to make sure I didn't sell him something with a flaw. Thanks!
