Got my wife an iPad2 yesterday (couldn't pass up the $100 drop in price).

We sync'd with iTunes on our computer which until now has always been sync'd with her iPhone, and all looked fine, until we noticed some of the apps wern't exactly right, i.e., eBay, USA Today, etc.

So we donloaded eBay for ipad, and USA Today for ipad, and deleted the older eBay and USA Today which were the iphone versions.

Question is when she sync's the ipad again, itunes will save save the ipad app versions.

Questions are:

1. Will the iphone versions remain in itunes or will it replace them wih the ipad versions?

2. When she syncs her iphone, will the ipad versions be loanded onto the iphone?

3. Does itunes know tthe differences when you are syncing an iphone vs ipad?

Your insight appreciated. Thank you

iTunes does know they are different devices, and will let you select different app layouts for them (it does this for any different device, even two iPhones). It does know what an iPad is, and will only let an app install to a valid device. Thus, if you have specific iPad-only apps then they will not get synced to the iPhone, but the iPhone versions of those apps *will* get synced to the iPad in addition to the iPad versions unless you manually choose the apps to sync to the device and uncheck those.

Well, We downloaded a couple of iPad AApps on the iPad, and they also downloaded to the iPhone. This happened just from downloading-not syncing.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Thank you
