iPad iPad Keyboard in German... Can I convert?

So I got given an iPad keyboard with 30 pin connector from a friend who upgraded. However it is the German QWERTZUIOPÜ one... So what I'm asking is can I change the order of the keys and then somehow change the software so it recoignises it as English?

shure, under settings or on the keyboard you have this world button on the left side of the space key to change the keyboard

I think the OP means he has a Physical keyboard in a non QUERTY layout.

- It may work if you change the physical keys about, but no guarantees.
