When holding the iPad in landscape, is your home button on the right or left? I find on the right works best for me, and it keeps the speakers from getting covered by my big mits. Do any cases make a difference on best direction for landscape?

Quoted for truth. I do the same :)

My home button is on the left only because of the apple case. Before i used the case, it held in in left and right positions.

(off topic: I really do love typing on this device in landscape mode. It is a surprising pleasure)

apple case blunder...?

most logical to have in on the right because then your volume rocker button and portrait/landscape lock button are easily accessible from the top. Other way around means that those buttons are either in your lap, on the bottom edge of a stand or, if you are holding it, not such an issue.

but if in a stand or on your lap, do you not think button on right?

right is the preferred method. Mostly because I have an easier time pressing the home button with my right fingers.

No, it's actually both. With the case slanted low for typing, the Home button is on the left, with the volume in the front. But with the case standing up for video, Home is on the right, with the volume on top.

OK. :)

still using right, my stand and my lap make volume button difficult to access when the button is on the left...and I am a lefty!

Right, so I don't cover the speaker and I can rest my fingers on the buttonless side of the chassis. I don't get why so many developers would make the default iPhone orientation require you to cover the speaker.

Usually on the right, so that the volume and lock buttons are out of the way.
