I have a 2021 12.9 iPad Pro along with an Apple Pencil 2 that about 2 years old. I don't use the pencil much but it lives attached to my iPad. Today I noticed for the first time ever (Via my battery widget) that the iPad is letting the pencil drop it's battery well down into the 80s. Is that normal? I thought the pencil was always kept near topped off. I was surprised to it's battery in the low 80%!

I am on the iPadOS Beta. Maybe they have some kind new optimized charging for the Pencil going on.

Thanks

Yeah, my Apple Pencil is no longer charging constantly on my Mini 6.

Dropped to just over 50% and wasn't charging - removed and repositioned on the edge of the iPad and it started charging.
Also on Beta
