I ordered a Logitech Combo Touch keyboard with trackpad for a new iPad 9th generation from the Apple Store a couple of weeks ago, and my order shows exactly that above. However, the Logitech keyboard carton indicates that the keyboard is for iPad 7th and 8th generation, which is not the one on my order. An Apple "specialist" provided me with the return label I needed to exchange it with the correct one ( or the generation 9th one on my order), and just today I received the exchange, which by the way is exactly the same iPad 7th and 8th generation keyboard. Now I am supposed to return this "second" keyboard to have it exchanged for the correct one. o_O

I am assuming that the keyboard is compatible with iPad 7th through 9th generations, but it is advertised at the Apple store as an iPad 9th generation. Will the third time be the charm? It does fit the new iPad perfectly, and it seems to work fine too.

Reedited 11 May, 2022: The Logitech "Combo Tough Detachable Keyboard With Trackpad" shown at the Apple store webpage as for "iPad 9th generation" works quite well with the my iPad 9th generation, although the package indicates that this keyboard is for "iPad (7th and 8th generation)." I had a long discussion from an Apple advisor this morning, so I am keeping the keyboard. I mentioned to the person I spoke with that the Apple Store webpage where the Logitech keyboard is displayed should be updated to indicate that even if it is written on the package that the keyboard is for iPad 7th and 8th generation, it is still fully functional with iPad 7th through 9th generation.

It took me a few seconds to setup the keyboard and "tap" functions, so I am very happy with this product. The keyboard protects the iPad. It serves as a very strong case once collapsed.

iPad hasn’t changed in physical design since 7th gen in 2019. All accessories designed for for that generation will fit newer models.

Most Apple “specialists” are anything but.

Yes, I was surprised when the "specialists" I talked with didn't know the difference. Well, the second person figured that something was not right because my order clearly indicated that I had ordered a keyboard for iPad 9th generation, while I had received the wrong one... twice already. So I explained that the problem was with the Store's web page and not with the keyboard. Now, All that should be done at the store and Logitech is to print stickers that indicates the iPad generations the keyboard is compatible with, and then to attach the sticker on the boxes before they are shipped. This would be cheaper than redesigning the keyboard box.

The keyboard works well with the iPad, and it provides a very strong cover for it.
