I've searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. Hopefully someone could quickly answer my question.

Are there app to read FREE magazine(like ibook or in dpf) format?

Isn't the daily a subscription paper? As for free magazines, iGizmo is pretty good. To be honest, I find RSS feeds to be pretty good, rather than a 'news' app. Flipboard or skygrid are excellent.

If you want an iPad magazine, not sure. Most are subscriptions, to be honest. Subs are pretty cheap on Zinio.

I'm using the Daily and I don't pay a subscription..

In your own use how does it compare (better) FlipBoard?

Flipboard only gives you news from sources you specify. With Zite, you tell it topics you are interested in, and it gives you articles about that topic from multiple sources. Also, with Flipboard, I'm finding I have to click through multiple screens to get the full article. Zite gives you the full article with only one tap.

Zite looks pretty cool. It looks like it finds things for you based on general topics and on how you rate articles, so it will find sites/articles you are not aware of it.

Anyway, since I sold my iPad 1, I can't test it, but this will be one of the first things I install when I get my new iPad.

Thank you so much!

Zite is great. I use it and Flipboard. Zite is nice because you can rate and say like "I want to see more of [topic], but Flipboard looks better and runs smoother.

Actually, these are too much of a web based format.
Because I download magazines to read on the go and not have to use 3g or wi-fi connection.

Something like iBook or Kindle that I could just upload for mobility and on the go.

Adobe Air I was using on mac, but looking for something similar for ipad

Is there such?

Try Instapaper. You save articles you want to read later, then download them before you go offline.
