Another rumor suggests that we should wait for ipad mini 3 retina until Q1 of 2014. Will you jump to an only spec upgraded ipad mini 2 without retina display?

Personally i will... i miss the raw power from my ipad 3... which obviously i sold it for the mini's form factor and never regret it :)

"We see two refreshes coming. One in the second half of this year, then one in Q1 [first quarter] of 2014," analyst Richard Shim told CNET late Sunday night

Same algorithms as last time

Code:
if (iPadMini.hasRetina)
{
   appleStore.orderItem("iPad Mini", 128, COLOR_BLACK, WIFI_ONLY);
}
else
{
  // nothing to do; keep using iPad3 or 5; or iPod Touch 5Gen
}

Fantastic approach. I just bought a mini last week for the 299.99 special and while I've gotten use to the screen the RAM has been bothering me and the future proofing for iOS updates and games. I will return this and see what WWDC has to offer. I could go for a spec update.

maybe another one :

{ no mini retina
( can't wait ( just buy one and be happy ) ha ha ha.

Keep my iPad4 or get the 5. No plans to get the mini without retina regardless of specs.

No retina display means no purchase. I already have an iPad 2 without a retina display. Why spend another $300+ on a smaller version of that?

...
The answer for me is pretty much the same whether or not the 2nd gen iPad mini has a Retina display. And that answer is "no".

If I had a need to do something that my current iPad mini can't do is when I'd look at upgrading. Or of course if it broke after AppleCare expires.

I just got back from buying mom a $299 mini for Mothers day. I think she'll be fine with it for what I for see her using it for.

I have an iPad2 and like the other posters it's a smaller iPad2. I don't have a problem with my iPad2 screen quality really. I want more memory and newer CPU though, retina would be nice but isn't a must for me. I'm waiting on the next mini to see what it'll have.

What raw power? Ipad3 and mini both have A5. I personally don't notice much performance difference.

Nope. A5 for the mini A5X for the ipad 3.

Its defitenly slower when opening apps and it lags many times in the beginning of casual tasks.....for example when you start to type Sth (post in forum,search on safari,write an email).

I will be extremely disappointed. I passed on buying the current Mini because it lacked Retina. I bought an iPad 3 instead, that I have just sold. If I wait for the next Mini, and it is still Retina-less, I'll buy and iPad 4 or 5.
