Hello, so I have read a few threads about this before but I have a few unanswered questions.
I currently have a 6 Plus, but I'm giving this to my partner as she needs it for work. I have ordered a Mini 2 Cellular, and I have a Nokia Lumia as a work phone. My 6 Plus and my Lumia both use EE.
So my thinking is to use the Mini as my main device with my EE Sim in it. This will be easy for me as I can carry it around etc and have no problems doing so.
I do however have a few questions;
1. Pretty much every one I know uses iMessage, but they all have my phone number and not my e-mail address, so can I get my phone number on my iPad, when the sim is no longer in the phone?
2. For the odd few people who don't use iMessage, (they do normally Whatsapp) but for instances when they don't, is there anyway to forward the SMS to my work phone, or receive it on the iPad? I have no issues if I need to jailbreak to do this either as I probably will do that.
3. Can call forwarding be setup if the phone is turned off/sim isn't in the phone? The sim will be in the iPad, but if people call me, can it be forwarded to my work phone?
The idea is to not have to tell everyone my work phone number, and I think these are the only issues I would have. The Lumia is still a smart phone, so I can still have all those functions should I need them. Even if I don't want to carry the Mini around at one point, I can just disable iMessage and hopefully forward the SMS to my work phone.
Does any one do this, or is there any problems I'm likely going to encounter?
