Hi everyone,

around 2 years ago I bought an iPad Mini 2 and was always happy with its general performance until the iOS 9 (and subsequent iOS 10) update. Since then, the performance has been utterly horrible to say the least. I am facing constant UI stutters, system apps take seconds to load and more complex apps like youtube are basically unusable.

I have already tried to improve performance by doing a complete system restore via iTunes, configuring the device as a new iPad and reducing motion/transparency.

Unfortunately, nothing so far has helped. In its current state my iPad is basically unusable.

I would greatly appreciate any help towards fixing my performance issues

I'm sorry to read that your iPad mini2 doesn't work as it should. Is it still within the warrantly period if so have you tried calling Apple? Do you have an Apple store close to you that you can visit?

I'm also an iPad mini2 user and it currently still runs on iOS9.x and runs pretty smooth.
I did update my iPhone 5s though to iOS10.1 and that runs pretty smooth.
