Are you serious? Wait to September 9th and you'll know the answer IF Apple address it. Nobody here knows, but can give you a thousand guesses!

It's up and available to buy now! I've ordered one. Dispatch is 4 - 6 days.

Can I get one in store tomorrow?

Couldn't say. Worth a try though. They're available online so who's to say the stores haven't received stock? Although the slightly delayed dispatch time (4 - 6 days) might suggest otherwise.

Unlikely. But seeing if a local pickup option is available would be a good indication of whether a store has any in stock.

Nope, doesn't work that way any more. They had too many issues with previous releases... so now they don't do the in-store pick up for things until inventory stabilizes. Look at the Macbook... look at the last few products. It shows up in stores then when most stores have it they turn off "Coming Soon" and turn on "Check for in store pickup" ... ever since Angela came to be it's how they've done it.

That was certainly true with the rMB, but that could be a special case due to ongoing inventory/production problems. We will see over the next week or two, but I don't think that the rMB is necessarily an indicator of Apple policy.

If that DOES turn out to be Apple's new policy, it's a big mistake. People were buying rMBs in huge numbers at Best Buy and other retailers because a lot of people want to put their hands on a box when they buy rather than order something with a sketchy estimate of future delivery.

Yep... got mine at Best Buy. The Watch was the same... they kept showing not available online, even after every store had them. Really bad direction Apple's been going lately.
