iPad mini 5 music eq ?

Just updated to iOS 14 and can’t get the eq to do anything, treble boost, bass boost, jazz,rock, no change in the tone,absolutely nothing !! Is there a trick to this or is everybody having the same problem?

It's discernible via the use of headphones or earbuds, but not at all using the iPad's speakers.
