So, I went ahead and pre ordered the iPad Mini 7. I know, not the biggest update from Apple, but it will pair nicely with my iPad Pro 11 M1, and I've never had a mini before. Did we confirm that ALL iPad Mini 6 cases will fit the Mini 7? I am a big fan of the Apple Folio on my Pro. Are the Mini 6 and 7 Folio's from Apple exactly the same? I'm looking at a sleek for factor that I can use at work. Thank you!

The dimensions on the Apple site are the exact same so we should be good. I have a dash mount I am happy to not need to replace.
I have the same question. While the dimensions are the same, I'm curious if the magnets are in different locations, which would cause the case to not work properly.
According to Apple, the 6 and 7 cases are cross-compatible, but they also don't always get that info correct - e.g. the polishing cloth isn't compatible with phones that were obsolete when it was released, but somehow I think it will still work!

I can confirm the magnets are the same. I received the new smart folio for iPad 7th gen and it works on my 6th gen mini.
Also I reached out to apple and they confirmed that the cases that worked with 6th gen would work with the 7th gen. I would alap assume (and hope) all third party cases work as the dimensions between both gens are identical.

Happy about this as I won’t need a new case at home nor a new mount in the airplane. I’m looking forward to having the extra storage & Cellular most of all!
